I did as I have said on this site booked a room at the Wynnstay in case the wedding was a different date so that I would be able to attend with the rest of you.

05 Viv kindly offered me a room at his place but as I have told him I would rather let the Hotel down and not him.
If someone wants a room at the Wynnstay let me know by this time tomorrow with contact info & I will phone or e-mail them and say to contact you.

If no one wants it I will just call them and cancel my booking tomorow PM. The room is for two nights Fri & Sat.

We have been in touch with a secretary from the RBL and have made arrangements to meet up with him and his president to hand over a cheque for £500, this donation will be made in the name of Welsh Guards Reunited, the RBL secretary has also requested that he would like to involve the local press, this of course will be great publicity for the site, and will continue to get our name out there to all Welsh Guardsmen past and present.

The remaining £208 will be used to purchase items for our shoebox appeal, this will ensure that as many Welsh Guards as possible receive something while on operations in Afghanistan, and will send a message that we are all thinking of them. I am also in contact with a mother who's son served in Afghanistan on the last tour, but unfortunately took his own life 6 months ago, she is working very hard to raise money for the Afghan Appeal, she has supplied me with her soon to be son-in-laws address at Camp Bastion so we can send parcels through him, he will be passing them on to boys who either have no family or families that cannot afford to make up these parcels to send, this not only gives them the essentials they need, but ensures they are on the same footing as everyone else. with porthcawl out of the way,we have been thinking of a different venue for 2013.we are giving the seabank a miss until 2015.so we are thinking of having a camping weekend at glan-usk[harry legg burkes place].anyone who went to the polo charity event ,will know that it is a perfect location for such an event.it will be on the same format as porthcawl,a 2 day event.where you will be able to pitch a tent,a caravan or if your like me,go the easy way and hire a camper van.we would have entertainment on the both nights[lydia baylis,and evian].on the saturday night we will have a hogg roast.it will be a bring your own drinks event.at the moment it is in the organising stage,so if you would be interested,please put your name down,so we can look at how many people are interested.then i can go back to glan -usk estate.here is a link to venue,it is a beutiful estate.hopefully with the help of roy morgan 70,on the saturday day we could have abit of clay pigeon shooting
