Here's a brief rundown on how social media sites Facebook and Twitter enhance Welsh Guards Reunited and promote the Welsh Guards to a wider audience outside of the Welsh Guards Reunited (WGR) website.

  • Welsh Guards Reunited Facebook GROUP (WGRFBG). You can join the WGR Facebook GROUP at the following link https://www.facebook.com/groups/welshguardsreunited/ The WGRFBG was formed to promote and enhance the WGR website. Purposely a lot of content on this group is repeated on the WGR website and designed in such a way as to promote the main WGR website. As Facebook has become a lot more popular in the last 5 years it was decided to run the group in tandem with WGR and keep the content and information on both platforms. The WGR Facebook group has 985 members, you can only access the group by requesting to join it, approval is decided by a couple of key administrators who run the group.

  • Welsh Guards Reunited Facebook PAGE (WGRFBP). This page is where all information, bulletins, Twitter tweets (tweets are duplicated and produced on this WGRFBP), the page can be accessed via the following link https://www.facebook.com/welshguardsreunited simply visit the page and "LIKE" the page and all information will be displayed on your Facebook timeline, a really excellent method of keeping in touch with the wider Welsh Guards audience. Furthermore, we currently have 862 LIKES and the page becomes more popular each week. The content is administered by 2 WGR members, content is pulled on a daily basis from all corners of the WWW.

  • Welsh Guards Reunited Twitter account. Follow us on the Twitter platform, look us up using the @WelshGuardsWGR We currently have 600+ followers and by following @WelshGuardsWGR you will receive instant information tweets from our Twitter account. Twitter is by far the fastest method of communication across the social media platforms, so worth you creating an account and following us especially with the forthcoming centenary events on the horizon, look us up

  • In summary. We have the Welsh Guards Reunited website; WGRFBG; WGRFBP; @WelshGuardsWGR Twitter account - Most of the social media platforms covered. Perhaps as the years progress we will look at other platforms, Google+ etc...
