Welcome to Welsh Guards Reunited and thank you for showing an interest in our Charity CD “Onwards and Upwards”.
Welsh Guards Reunited is a web based organisation which enables past, present and future members of our fine Regiment, their families, friends, relatives and visitors, to continue to enjoy the camaraderie of the Welsh Guards wherever they may be in the World. Currently boasting over 2,000 members, our aim is to support the serving members of 1st Battalion Welsh Guards and their families in any way we can.
As you are probably aware, 1st Battalion Welsh Guards returned from Afghanistan in October 2009 having had a particularly torrid six month tour of duty. Seven members of the Battalion, including the Commanding Officer, lost their lives and many more received serious battle injuries which will require long term care and attention. With this in mind, the Welsh Guards Afghanistan Appeal (WGAA) is being launched very shortly. HRH The Prince of Wales is the Patron of the Appeal which has a stated aim to “support, alleviate and improve the prospects of all those consequently in need”. See further details at Welsh Guards Appeal. By purchasing this CD, you are directly contributing to this worthy and essential cause.
The Charity CD was the brainchild of one of our members, David “Spider” Webb and all incorporated artists, who have donated their time, talents and music free of charge, have a connection with the Welsh Guards. The CD contains the following 14 tracks of essential Welsh listening which will stir emotions, bring back memories and make you proud to have contributed to our cause – Thank you.
