honey 70 Posted April 5, 2016 I was on that one but can't remember who it was , The good old SLR was a much better rifle for ceremonial duties, much smarter than the SA80. Link to comment
The Knock 4,131 Posted May 9, 2017 Ben could well have been on that one Phil. Myself, Ben Casey and Steve Jennings were the last draft to join the Bn but weren't required. Ben Parry was ahead of me, prob by one squad. But did he do Duty Coy or direct to the Tailors Shop? I seem to remember this photo being bounced around F B, but can't remember if a name to the unfortunate Guardsman came up. If we know the exact Troop, check the Special Sick Book. Should be there somewhere! Link to comment

bowen85 49 Posted Thursday at 10:27 (edited) Think it was 1969. the Bn had to find 2 Guards No 7 and 8, as 2 Coy was in America, 8 guard was made up from a mixture. It was my only time on an actual troop. Do remember Dusty Smith the then stich being on the Parade. After a long hot march from Chelsea we prepared to be inspected. A voice rang out 'F*** this for a game of soldiers, see ya boys', The guy then fainted. Sure it was Dusty. Edited Thursday at 10:28 by bowen85 Link to comment
