    The National Arboretum

The Regimental Cap Badges were taken from Chelsea Barracks and positioned in Battle Order, on the railings, which were used to replicate the railings in London of Buckingham Palace, St. James's Palace, Wellington and Chelsea Barracks. The stone laid on the ground and surrounding the monument were acquired from Quarries in England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales. There is also a walk way from the main drag, through a number of trees, evenly spaced, on either side of the walk way, which have red foliage. To represent the Mall and Street Lining.

I was told in IJLB by my weapons instructor when I was presented with my crossed rifles that I could now tell the girls that I could shoot my load anywhere. A lot of shooting happened between then and when that pic was taken!!!

  39. I belong to the London WG Association Branch. I presume the query is about the Welsh Guards Association Standard - don't have one in Norfolk, if we did it would have taken pride of place, believe me!!

A bit of a incident with Alfie in Cyprus 1967, 3 coy lads in a bar having a good time when some other regiment lads wanted some trouble, you could sense something was going to happen when alfie arguing with this big lad put his hand inside his jacket as if to pull a gun, the other lot backed down then, gave us time to do a runner. they far out numbered us.
