So that's it then, from pomp and pageantry, to two tower blocks and a Garrison Church. Never to hear the scream of a WO or NCO again, all that's left are the memories, albeit good ones. The Whistle Stop, Union, Red Lion, The Orange, Ranleigh...not of course forgetting The Mecca in Leicester Square! Much laughter, many pints and not forgetting the punch ups and facing the door next morning!

Where the Luftwaffe Faild the Labour Govenment suceeded , i was never stationed at Chelsea only to use the Place prior to Mount Public Duties . I f i recall the Battalion was due to be posted there after Berlin ,but we were sent to that Dump dalled Pirbright , a posting sadly missed .

I well remember this old place, not only this one but the one before it, I was happy in both of them, great memories.

All 5 regimental bands are based in Wellington Barracks, and as from march 2011 there will also be the three incrimental company's also base there. The Home service Battalion i.e. 1st bn Welsh Guards will be posted to Calvery Barrcks Houslow. The other will be posted to Victora Barracks Windsor.So to that end As from March 2011 2 battalions in Aldershot 1GG, 1IG,. And 1CG 1WG in them Barracks as metiond above, Scots Guards will remain in Catterick as a Armourd Infanty Battalion.

Jack the Incremental Company are Nijmegan Company 2GG No 7 Company 2CG

F Compny 2SG they are from the old 2nd Battalions theses companys were kept after the Disbandment of there 2nd Battalion,s they are full time Public Duties Company's.

what a great photo,i see they build the married flats first,,and the garrison church near the back gate still standing. lot of history went with the old barracks,,wonder if they found my bearskin..lol

I was stationed in the old Chelsea Bks, saw it being pulled down, saw the new one being built and now i have seen it pulled down, very sad.
